When Exploding Kittens launched their Kitten Games sub-brand for ages 4+, I was lucky enough to work on this title as one of my earliest introductions to packaging design.
I was very inspired by the assigned artist's fun flavors and his initial pink striped background on the entire cover. Originally planned to be a 2-piece rigid box, I was proactive at helping problem solve to bring the cost of goods down by modifying the dieline into a tuckbox and used the stripes for an awning to resemble a classic ice cream parlor store front. The awning acts as the opening flap of the box and uses velcro for a strong seal. (Character illustrations by Chuck Belak-Berger)
Below: One significant contribution to the entire Kitten Games line I am proud of is the Kitten Games spine. The CEO of Exploding Kittens wanted to add the story of how he and his daughter came up with these games. I suggested to use a side panel  and created the initial layout for all games to use.
